Nowhere to go but his truck
She is stuck on an empty desert road with no car and no plan. The person who stops for her is, in the official synopsis, the most average man in the world, behind the wheel of a worn-out pickup. The contrast is the whole joke and the whole premise: a stranger who looks out of his league, and a long drive under the desert sun with nobody else around.
What the free episode 1 shows
Episode 1 runs 1:08 and covers a lot of ground:
- 0:00–0:08 – the hitchhiker, in a yellow crop t-shirt, black shorts and a backpack, waits by the road fanning herself.
- 0:08–0:33 – he pulls over; she leans in the window, climbs in, puts her bare feet up and eats chips.
- 0:33–0:50 – a stop for fuel, where she pours bottled water over herself and soaks her shirt while he watches in his orange cap.
- 0:50–1:08 – a clerk at a motel desk slides over a key, then she opens the room door and looks back at him.
Both of them stay dressed throughout; the wet t-shirt at about 0:40 is the most revealing moment.
The price of the whole ride
You can play the first episode without an account. A free account opens episode 2. After that, episodes 3 to 5 cost 12 tokens each, so the full story comes to 36 tokens. No Premium plan is required.
Is it worth watching?
Worth it if you want two strangers on a road trip with no family angle, two free episodes and a 36-token finish. Skip it if you want more than a wet t-shirt in the free episodes, because episode 1 ends at the motel door with everyone dressed. If the travel setting appeals, Midnight Compartment moves a similar tension onto an overnight train, and Room 742 starts with a stranger already inside a hotel room.
