Dad is stuck at work, and his wife needs a plus one for an exclusive gala. So she takes her stepson instead and puts him in his father’s suit. At the event everyone assumes the two of them are married, and so, it seems, does she. By the end of the night, Candy says, she is not pretending anymore.

Episode 1 runs 59 seconds. At dusk his stepmom, a red-haired woman in a long black satin gown with a slit, walks in through the front door on the phone. At about 0:10 she leans over him while he sits in a gaming headset and a white T-shirt, talking to him closely. From about 0:22 to 0:40 comes the gala: chandeliers, martinis at the bar, the stepson now in a dark suit, a dark-haired woman chatting with them. At about 0:40, in a golden elevator, she fixes his tie and leans in. In the last ten seconds she walks down a hotel hallway in the backless gown and looks back from behind a room door. Everyone stays dressed. The pacing is quick: four locations in under a minute.

Is it worth watching?
